Getting Ready

We showed up at Canoe Canada at about three o'clock in the afternoon. Jim sat right down with us and broke out the maps. He then sketched out a route, emphasizing where the fish were, which portages to take and how to find them, and tons of tips about campsites and things to see. We took our heavily marked map and went to the next room to learn about our equipment. That night we went to bed early in the bunkhouse since we had to get up early to hit the water.

“Are we ready for some adventure boys?!”

If you know Jim, you know he gets excited at the prospect of steering a pack of men on an adventure. He asked us what we wanted to do, what kind of fishing we wanted, how hard we wanted to work.
