The
Fishing Was Incredible!
Day
Two
Last
night we found an amazing campsite with tons of room and a huge slab
that served as a perfect table. We were in Pickerel Narrows. It's a
mass of islands where several bodies of water come together. We saw
some traffic through here. But still the fishing was incredible. We
found a point we called "Pike Point," where each time we trolled past
it we got a huge pike! We found walleye, lake trout and of course
smallmouth. We were amazed to find out that we could just dip a cup in
the water and drink it! The water out here is that clean!
Tonight
at sunset there were dozens of Loons swirling around in packs and
making a huge ruckus. What a cool noise! And they just keep going all
night. It's so eerie. That leaves a deep impression on your memory.

The
food is awesome. The steak we had last night on the open flames was one
of the best steaks I ever had. Fortunately I knew how important it is
to bring spices. Spices make things exciting, because food is exciting.
All our food is fresh at this point, which is great because that means
we're shedding some weight in the packs.
